Stonecrest Director of Operations Erika Luitjens had the privilege of attending the Opportunity Collaboration in Ixtapa, Mexico, this month. Opportunity Collaboration is a unique event that brings together social entrepreneurs with people and resources that can provide critical assistance with development and growth of their enterprises. Social entrepreneurs are provided access to education, traning, and mentorship, as well as a chance to make critical connections with organizations (like Stonecrest) that provide funding for social enterprises. “My heart is overflowing after attending at the Opportunity Collaboration conference, surrounded by incredible individuals united in the mission to eradicate poverty”, said Luitjens. “It was wonderful reconnecting with old friends and meeting so many new people whose stories of dedication, resilience, and selflessness left me deeply humbled. Together, as a community, we have the power to stand up and tackle this complex challenge.”
Among her other duties, Erika oversees CapCon, Stonecrest’s non-profit foundation with a mission to help eradicate poverty worldwide. The focus of CapCon is to provide critical tools for young people to lift themselves out of poverty, with an emphasis on opportunities for women.
